Who is this card good for?
The Capital One Venture X is great for folks looking to get more from their travel experience. Capital One miles can be redeemed for one cent apiece toward travel, but they can also be transferred to 15 airline and three hotel partners including Air Canada Aeroplan and Wyndham Rewards, which can open up tremendous travel opportunities.
If you pass through airports a lot, the card will get you into over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges worldwide, not to mention Capital One’s own planned network of swanky lounges, the first of which opened at Dallas-Fort Worth in 2021.
The Venture X is also a fantastic all-round earner, accumulating up 10 miles per dollar on hotels and car rentals booked through Capital One, 5 miles per dollar on flights booked through Capital One travel, and 2 miles per dollar on other purchases. So you can rack up even more travel rewards on your everyday spending.
Earning Rewards
Thanks to the various transfer options, we value Capital One miles at 1.85 cents apiece. That means the sign-up bonus of 75,000 miles is worth a whopping $1,387.50 toward travel (not provided by the issuer). Apart from that, you can earn 2 miles per dollar on everyday purchases, and at higher rates on various travel bookings made through Capital One, all of which adds up to a great return on spending.
